Project One Focus is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in Houston, Texas in 1999 — now uplifting individuals and families from our founding home to communities across the country and around the world.
Our story
A local response that became a wider movement
Project One Focus was founded in Houston, Texas in 1999 by community members who recognized an urgent need for educational and outreach services in underserved areas.
What began as a local response to local need has since grown into a broader movement — one that now reaches individuals and families far beyond Houston, extending our impact to communities across the country and around the world.
Our mission remains the same wherever we serve: to uplift individuals and families through education, outreach, advocacy and community support that meets people where they are and moves them forward. We partner with local organisations and draw on the strength already present in every community we enter, because we believe lasting change is built together, not handed down.
In our own words
Over the past two decades, Project One Focus has reached thousands of individuals — from our founding home in Houston to communities well beyond it.
We have walked alongside adjudicated teens working to rewrite their futures, provided academic support to students who needed a second chance, and connected families with the resources that turn potential into progress. Every program we run is grounded in the same values: inclusiveness, empowerment, and a relentless commitment to lasting impact.
We are more than a nonprofit. We are a community of neighbors, mentors and advocates working toward one shared future — a world where every person, regardless of where they live, has the chance to thrive.
